Welcome to Reading Shotokan Karate Club

...........................................................................

Welcome to our site and hope you find what you are looking for, if you can't or just have some questions then you can email us any questions on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or via the 'email us' option on the menu. Our instructors are licensed, insured and CRB checked.

We are a friendly club and you only pay when you train. New students are welcome, either call us or just turn up in loose clothing ready to train.

We are a traditional Shotokan club which means that we don't train for sport karate preferring to practice basic techniques (punching, kicking, blocking) and katas (patterns) to make our fundamental karate techniques better. We also apply these to the modern world practicing self defense moves derived from our katas. This helps us understand why we are practicing certain moves and so become more effective in our understanding of Karate.

Please create an account for yourself on the left side to help us with mailers to you and notices, and remember to contact us if there is something you would like us to add to the site. Oss Brian Gwyther.
